Vacation Wines - Number One - 1996 Mosaïque, Jacquart

Finally - last day of work has come and gone, now it is time for more than four weeks vacation! And is there a better way to start this long free time than with some mature bubbles - I would say not!

1996 Mosaïque, Jacquart
The nose is wide open, mature and smoky with notes of toasted bread, fried mushrooms, dried up orange jam, tulips and dry dark fudge. A very fine maturity. Ripe and rich on the nose. Full of life.
The taste is creamy, round and with lots of sweet yellow fruit and additional notes of toast, blood grape, butter cookies and smoke. A high, fine acidity. Drinking great today but I wouldn't hold on to any remaining bottles for too long.
