2010 Barolo Coste & Bricco, Matteo Ascheri

I opened a youngster to go along a hearty lasagna on this Sunday evening.

2010 Barolo Coste & Bricco,  Matteo Ascheri
Hard as nails right out of the bottle but with two hours in a decanter things starts to happen. The nose is young and handsome with fine notes of ripe red currants, detergent, rose petals, dry asphalt and raspberry liquorice, Very fine. High and pure. Racy. Will evolve beautifully.
The taste is young, tight and sandy with notes of lingonberries, dried wild strawberries, mushrooms, rosehips and dusty earth. A long, structured finish with a polished tannins. A touch of sandelwood. Needs time. Will turn out great, just give it 6+ years.
